ABQnews| Deutschland / Berlin | Der CDU-Politiker Norbert Röttgen will für den Parteivorsitz im Team mit einer Frau kandidieren. “Die zweite Person in meinem Team wird eine Frau sein”, schrieb der frühere Bundesumweltminister am Dienstag bei Twitter. Einen Namen nannte er zunächst nicht. “Frauen gehören an vorderster Stelle mit zur CDU”, sagte Röttgen im Fernsehsender Phoenix. “Wenn die CDU eine Partei der Mitte sein will, reicht es nicht, das nur zu behaupten”, ergänzte er.
Seine eigene Kandidatur um die Nachfolge von Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer an der CDU-Spitze hatte Röttgen bereits in der vergangenen Woche erklärt. Der 54-Jährige tritt gegen Nordrhein-Westfalens Ministerpräsidenten Armin Laschet an. Dieser wird von Bundesgesundheitsminister Jens Spahn unterstützt, der CDU-Vizechef werden soll. Zudem wird die Kandidatur des früheren Unionsfraktionschefs Friedrich Merz erwartet.
