ABQnews| Deutschland / Berlin | Bundesgesundheitsminister Jens Spahn rechnet “Anfang nächsten Jahres” mit einem Impfstoff gegen Covid-19 für die deutsche Bevölkerung.
Es sei aber auch möglich, dass die Zulassung erst nach März erfolge, sagte der CDU-Politiker dem “Spiegel” laut Vorabbericht vom Freitag. Ähnlich hatte sich am Donnerstag der Präsident des Robert-Koch-Instituts, Lothar Wieler, geäußert. Spahn dämpfte zugleich die Erwartung an die Wirksamkeit von Impfstoffen. “Natürlich wäre es das Beste, ein Impfstoff würde Neuinfektionen verhindern. Aber es wäre auch schon ein Gewinn, wenn er den Krankheitsverlauf milder macht”, sagte Spahn, der selbst mit dem Virus infiziert ist. Nach der Zulassung eines Impfstoffes könne es dann sechs, sieben Monate dauern, bis die Bevölkerung geimpft sei – wobei Spahn die Freiwilligkeit der Impfung betonte. Das Magazin wies darauf hin, dass das Interview vor der festgestellten Corona-Infektion des Gesundheitsministers geführt worden sei.
