ABQnews| Deutschland / Hessen | In Hessen sind heute (08.00 Uhr) knapp 4,4 Millionen Wahlberechtigte zur Landtagswahl aufgerufen. Laut jüngsten Umfragen müssen CDU und SPD mit starken Verlusten rechnen. Die Grünen liefern sich ein Kopf-an-Kopf-Rennen mit der SPD und könnten zweitstärkste Kraft werden. Die AfD dürfte erstmals in den Landtag einziehen. Ob die schwarz-grüne Landesregierung wieder eine Mehrheit bekommt, ist unklar. Die Regierungsbildung könnte schwierig werden.
Dem Urnengang wird auch große Bedeutung für die Bundespolitik in Berlin beigemessen. Sollte der derzeit mit den Grünen regierende Ministerpräsident Volker Bouffier sein Amt verlieren, dürfte dies auch Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel (beide CDU) schwächen. Parallel zur Landtagswahl findet in Hessen auch eine Volksabstimmung über die Landesverfassung statt
