ABQnews| Deutschland / Berlin | Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel (CDU) beendet ihre häusliche Quarantäne. “Die Kanzlerin kehrt heute an ihren Arbeitsplatz im Kanzleramt zurück”, sagte Regierungssprecher Steffen Seibert am Freitag in Berlin. Notwendige Abstandsregeln würden dabei aber selbstverständlich weiterhin eingehalten.
Merkel hatte sich vor knapp zwei Wochen in häusliche Quarantäne begeben, weil sie Kontakt zu einem Arzt hatte, der kurz darauf positiv auf das Coronavirus getestet wurde. Bei der Kanzlerin wurde dagegen keine Infektion festgestellt. “Glücklicherweise wurde die Bundeskanzlerin mehrfach negativ auf das Coronavirus getestet”, sagte Seibert. “Die heimische Quarantäne ist zu Ende.”
Für Merkel gehe damit jetzt “die Arbeit aus dem Kanzleramt weiter”. Dazu würden aber weiterhin viele Telefonkonferenzen und Videokonferenzen gehören. Merkel hatte auch während der Quarantäne ihre Regierungsarbeit nicht unterbrochen und beispielsweise per Telefon Kabinettssitzungen geleitet und Pressekonferenzen abgehalten.
