ABQnews| Italien / Rom | In Italien verlangsamt sich die Zunahme der Neuinfektionen mit dem Coronavirus.
Die Gesamtzahl der Infizierten erhöhte sich um 5217 auf 97.689, wie der Zivilschutz am Sonntag mitteilte. Das ist der geringste Anstieg von Neuinfektionen seit Mittwoch. Bislang hat die Coronavirus-Pandemie offiziellen Angaben zufolge 10.779 Todesopfer in Italien gefordert. Die Behörde erklärte, dass in den vergangenen 24 Stunden 756 neue Todesfälle hinzugekommen seien.
Im Kampf gegen die Ausbreitung des Virus droht dem südeuropäischen Land dennoch eine Verlängerung der Ausgangssperre. “Die Maßnahmen, die am 3. April auslaufen, werden unweigerlich verlängert”, sagte der Minister für regionale Angelegenheiten, Francesco Boccia, dem TV-Sender Sky TG24. Ministerpräsident Giuseppe Conte werde die Entscheidung darüber anhand von medizinischen und wissenschaftlichen Daten treffen. In italienischen Medienberichten ist von einer Verlängerung um weitere zwei Wochen bis zum 18. April die Rede.
