ABQnews| Großbritannien / London | Easyjet hat seinen regulären Flugbetrieb wegen der Corona-Krise vorerst eingestellt. Sämtliche Flugzeuge blieben bis auf Weiteres am Boden, teilte der britische Billigflieger am Montag mit. Das Unternehmen begründete die Entscheidung mit den weltweiten massiven Reisebeschränkungen und den Beschränkungen des öffentlichen Lebens in zahlreichen Ländern Europas. Wann der kommerzielle Flugbetrieb wieder aufgenommen wird, ließ Easyjet offen.
Die Airline hatte bereits vergangene Woche fast alle Flüge gestrichen. Zugleich beteiligte sich Easyjet aber an der Rückholung von Kunden aus dem Ausland. Nach eigenen Angaben startete das Unternehmen dafür 650 Flüge und brachte mehr als 45.000 Menschen zurück.
