ABQnews| USA / Washington DC | Die USA lassen ein herkömmliches Malaria-Mittel als Medikament gegen Coronavirus-Erkrankungen zu. US-Präsident Donald Trump sagte am Donnerstag im Weißen Haus, die Medikamentenbehörde FDA habe die Arznei Chloroquine zur Behandlung von Coronavirus-Patienten zugelassen. Das Medikament solle bald gegen Rezept ausgegeben werden.
Das Malaria-Mittel ist auch in Europa als Arznei gegen das Coronavirus im Gespräch. Bundesgesundheitsminister Jens Spahn (CDU) sagte am Mittwoch, die Regierung habe beim Pharmakonzern Bayer bereits “größere Mengen Chloroquine reserviert”.
“Gleichzeitig begleiten unsere Behörden alle Studien dazu mit Hochdruck”, sagte Spahn den Zeitungen des Redaktionsnetzwerks Deutschland. “Wir wollen schnell wissen, ob dieses Medikament bei Corona hilft.”
