ABQnews| Deutschland / Zwickau | Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier nimmt am Dienstag (11.00 Uhr) in Zwickau an einer Diskussion über den Schutz bedrohter Kommunalpolitiker teil. Auf der Veranstaltung unter dem Titel “Gemeinsam gegen Hass und Gewalt – Kommunalpolitiker nicht allein lassen” will Steinmeier mit Kommunalpolitikern, Präventionsexperten und Vertretern der Zivilgesellschaft diskutieren, wie Amts- und Mandatsträger besser unterstützt werden können.
Anschließend will er den Gedenkort für die Opfer der Terrorgruppe Nationalsozialistischer Untergrund (NSU) in Zwickau besuchen (14.30 Uhr). In der sächsischen Stadt, in der das NSU-Trio jahrelang lebte und seinen letzten Unterschlupf hatte, wurden für alle Opfer Bäume gepflanzt und Gedenktafeln angebracht. Auch Kanzlerin Angela Merkel (CDU) besuchte im November den Gedenkort. Kurz zuvor war ein erst kurz zuvor gepflanzter Gedenkbaum für das erste NSU-Mordopfer Enver Simsek abgesägt worden. Ein Täter wurde nicht gefasst.
