ABQnews| Deutschland / Vorfalls / Kassel / Hessen | Unter den 52 Verletzten des Vorfalls beim Rosenmontagszug im nordhessischen Volkmarsen sind 18 Kinder. Insgesamt befanden sich nach der Fahrt eines Autos in eine Menschenmenge noch 35 Menschen in stationärer Behandlung im Krankenhaus, wie die Polizei in Kassel am Dienstagmorgen mitteilte. 17 weitere Menschen wurden demnach ambulant behandelt und konnten das Krankenhaus verlassen. Das Motiv des Täters war weiterhin unklar.
Der 29-jährige Deutsche aus Volkmarsen war am Montag offenbar mit hoher Geschwindigkeit in den Rosenmontagszug gefahren. Das hessische Innenministerium schloss einen Anschlag nicht aus. Nach dem Vorfall war der festgenommene Fahrer des Wagens zunächst nicht vernehmungsfähig. Die Generalstaatsanwaltschaft Frankfurt am Main nahm Ermittlungen wegen des Verdachts eines versuchten Tötungsdelikts auf.
