ABQnews| USA / China | In einem weiteren Schritt der Deeskalation im Handelskonflikt senkt China die Strafzölle auf US-Importe im Wert von 75 Milliarden Dollar (68 Milliarden Euro). Die im September verhängten Abgaben in Höhe von fünf und zehn Prozent werden ab dem 14. Februar halbiert, wie die Regierung in Peking am Donnerstag ankündigte.
China und Washington hatten nach fast zweijährigem erbittertem Handelsstreit Mitte Januar ein erstes Teilabkommen zur Beilegung ihres Handelskonflikts unterzeichnet.
Die jetzt von Peking angekündigten Zollreduzierungen beziehen sich auf eine Palette von mehr als 1600 Gütern, von Sojabohnen, Geflügel und Meeresfrüchten bis hin zu Flugzeugen. Die Verringerung der Zölle wurde zu einem Zeitpunkt verkündet, zu dem die chinesische Wirtschaft zunehmend mit den Folgen der Coronavirus-Epidemie zu kämpfen hat.
