ABQnews| Somalia / Mogadischu | Bei einem Bombenanschlag in der somalischen Hauptstadt Mogadischu sind nach Angaben von Polizei und Augenzeugen über 20 Menschen getötet worden. Ein mutmaßlicher Selbstmordattentäter habe am Samstag sein mit Sprengstoff beladenes Fahrzeug in einem belebten Viertel der Stadt in die Luft gesprengt, berichtete der Sicherheitsvertreter Abdulahi Adan.
Der Polizist Ibrahim Mohamed sprach von einer “verheerenden Explosion”. Über 20 Zivilisten seien getötet und zahlreiche weitere verletzt worden, sagte der Polizist. Die Zahl der Toten könne weiter steigen. Ein Augenzeuge berichtete, er habe 22 Leichen und über 30 Verletzte gezählt.
Wer hinter dem Anschlag steht, war zunächst unklar. Doch trägt er die Handschrift der radikalislamischen Shebab-Miliz. Die Miliz war im August 2011 von Truppen der Afrikanischen Union (AU) aus Mogadischu vertrieben worden. Sie kontrolliert aber nach wie vor weite Gebiete des ostafrikanischen Landes und verübt auch immer wieder Anschläge in der Hauptstadt.
