USA und Japan unterzeichnen Handelsabkommen

ABQnews| USA / Japan | Die USA und Japan haben zwei Handelsabkommen in den Bereichen Landwirtschaft und Digitales unterzeichnet. US-Präsident Donald Trump sprach am Montag bei der Unterzeichnung der Vereinbarungen in Washington von einem großen “Sieg” für beide Länder. “Wir lieben unsere Landwirte und Viehzüchter. Wir haben hart daran gearbeitet.”

Das Agrar-Handelsabkommen sieht einen Abbau japanischer Zöllen im Umfang von sieben Milliarden Dollar auf landwirtschaftliche Güter aus den USA vor. Washington baut derweil Zölle in Höhe von 40 Millionen Dollar für japanische Güter ab und ermöglicht mehr Importe von japanischem Rindfleisch.

In dem Digital-Abkommen vereinbarten beide Länder, Abgaben unter anderem auf Videos, Musik und E-Books zu senken. Auch sollen Datentransfers zwischen Japan und den USA barrierefrei verlaufen.

Wichtiger für Japan ist aber die Frage von Zöllen auf Autos. Trump hat auch der Regierung in Tokio Abgaben von 25 Prozent auf Fahrzeuge angedroht. Nach japanischen Angaben vom September hat der US-Präsident aber zugesagt, vorerst auf die Erhebung der Zölle zu verzichten.
