ABQnews| Schweden / Stockholm | Die Akademie der Wissenschaften in Stockholm gibt heute (gegen 11.45 Uhr) bekannt, wer in diesem Jahr den Nobelpreis für Physik erhält. Im vergangenen Jahr hatten sich der US-Wissenschaftler Arthur Ashkin, der französische Forscher Gérard Mourou sowie ihre kanadische Kollegin Donna Strickland die Auszeichnung für ihre bahnbrechenden Erfindungen in der Laserphysik geteilt.
Mit der Vergabe des Medizin-Nobelpreises begann am Montag die diesjährige Nobelpreissaison. Er ging an die beiden US-Forscher William Kaelin and Gregg Semenza und ihren britischen Kollegen Peter Ratcliffe für ihre Untersuchungen zur Sauerstoffversorgung von Zellen. In den kommenden Tagen folgen der Preis für Chemie und Literatur, am Freitag der Friedensnobelpreis und am kommenden Montag die Auszeichnung für Wirtschaftswissenschaften. Der Literaturpreis wird dieses Jahr zweimal vergeben, weil die Schwedische Akademie im vergangenen Jahr infolge eines Vergewaltigungsskandals nicht beschlussfähig war.
