ABQnews| Deutschland / Kiel | In Kiel kommen die Staatsspitzen heute (12.00 Uhr) zum zentralen Festakt zum Tag der Deutschen Einheit zusammen. Dabei sind unter anderem Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel (CDU) sowie die führenden Repräsentanten von Bundestag, Bundesrat und weiteren Verfassungsorganen. Merkel hält bei der Veranstaltung eine Rede.
Zu dem Programm der Feierlichkeiten in der schleswig-holsteinischen Hauptstadt gehören unter anderem auch ein Bürgerempfang, ein großes Bürgerfest und zahlreiche weitere Termine. Deutschland ist seit 1990 wiedervereinigt, seitdem ist der 3. Oktober der Nationalfeiertag. Die zentrale Feier findet in dem Bundesland statt, das gerade den Vorsitz im Bundesrat inne hat. In diesem Jahr ist dies Schleswig-Holstein.
