ABQnews| Deutschland / USA | US-Präsident Donald Trump hat ein geplantes Gespräch mit Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel (CDU) am Rande des G7-Gipfels in Biarritz verschoben. Das ursprünglich für Montagmorgen geplante Treffen sei nun für 11.30 Uhr angesetzt, hieß es aus deutschen Regierungskreisen.
Zur Begründung für den Aufschub hieß es aus dem Umfeld Trumps, ein vorausgehendes Gespräch zwischen Trump und dem ägyptischen Präsidenten Abdel Fattah al-Sisi habe sich verzögert. Im Mittelpunkt des Treffens zwischen Trump und Merkel sollten Handelsfragen stehen. Der US-Präsident hatte am Morgen neue Gespräche im Konflikt mit China angekündigt. Sie sollen nach seinen Angaben “sehr bald” beginnen.
Die Bundesregierung sieht in dem Handelsstreit zwischen den USA und China eine Gefahr für die Weltwirtschaft. Auch in Deutschland gibt es Anzeichen für eine Abschwächung der Konjunktur.
