ABQnews| Deutschland / Berlin / Frankreich / Paris | Erstmals seit der Unterzeichnung des Aachener Vertrags im Januar nimmt Bundesaußenminister Heiko Maas (SPD) heute an einer Sitzung des französischen Kabinetts teil (10.00 Uhr). Er folgt damit einer Einladung des französischen Außenministers Jean-Yves Le Drian, der bereits im März eine Ministerrunde in Berlin besucht hatte. Im Anschluss ist eine gemeinsame Presseerklärung von Maas und Le Drian vorgesehen.
Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel (CDU) und Frankreichs Präsident Emmanuel Macron hatten den Aachener Vertrag am 22. Januar unterzeichnet. Er sieht eine engere Zusammenarbeit in der Wirtschafts-, Verteidigungs- und Europapolitik vor. Der Vertrag legt auch fest, dass vierteljährlich ein Minister im Kabinett des Partnerlandes zu Gast sein soll.
