ABQnews| Deutschland / Berlin | Die deutschen Autohersteller haben das Ziel verfehlt, bis Ende 2018 die Software-Updates für 5,3 Millionen Dieselfahrzeuge abzuschließen. “Bis dato” seien 3,75 Millionen Fahrzeuge fertig umgerüstet, sagte Bundesverkehrsminister Andreas Scheuer (CSU) der “Passauer Neuen Presse” vom Donnerstag. Das “liegt daran, dass die Hersteller zu ihren Anträgen auf Freigabe des Software-Updates zum Teil noch die notwendigen technischen Unterlagen an das Kraftfahrtbundesamt liefern müssen”.

Er sei von der “Herangehensweise mancher Hersteller sehr enttäuscht”, sagte der Minister. Das Vertrauen der Kunden in die Produkte der deutschen Leitindustrie sei enorm gesunken. “Ich fordere eindringlich von den Herstellern, dass sie schnellstmöglich die restlichen Fahrzeuge abarbeiten. Ansonsten verspielen sie erneut Vertrauen.”

Zugleich warnte Scheuer aber vor einem “Endlos-Bashing der Autobranche”. Diese sei “für den Wirtschaftsstandort Deutschland systemrelevant”. Mit der Diesel-Debatte erlaube sich das Land eine Diskussion, “die man sich nur leisten kann, wenn man meint, der wirtschaftliche Wohlstand und die niedrige Arbeitslosigkeit stehen im Grundgesetz festgeschrieben”.
