ABQnews| Deutschland / Berlin | Bundesaußenminister Heiko Maas wird heute in Paris erwartet. Geplant ist nach Angaben des Auswärtigen Amtes ein bilaterales Treffen mit dem französischen Außenminister Jean-Yves Le Drian (Pk. 10.00 Uhr). Beide Politiker nehmen im Anschluss an einer Konferenz zur Bekämpfung des unerlaubten Waffenhandels in den Westbalkan-Staaten teil. Dazu werden auch die Außenminister von sechs Balkanländern erwartet.
Seit den islamistischen Anschlägen im Jahr 2015 dringt Frankreich auf eine bessere Kontrolle von Kleinwaffen und leichten Waffen. Eine gemeinsame deutsch-französische Initiative von Ende 2017 sieht einen verstärkten Dialog mit den Balkanländern und gemeinsame Maßnahmen vor.
