ABQnews| Deutschland / Hamburg | Einen Tag vor dem CDU-Parteitag kommen die Parteigremien heute in Hamburg zu letzten Beratungen zusammen (ab 15.00 Uhr). Im Anschluss berichten CDU-Bundesgeschäftsführer Klaus Schüler und der Vorsitzende der Antragskommission, Thomas de Maizière, über die Sitzungen von Parteipräsidium und Bundesvorstand (gegen 17.30 Uhr). Der zweitägige Parteitag beginnt am Freitagmorgen, Hauptpunkt auf der Tagesordnung ist die Neuwahl des Parteivorsitzes.
Die bisherige CDU-Chefin Angela Merkel hatte angekündigt, den Parteivorsitz nach mehr als 18 Jahren abzugeben. Bislang gibt es drei Bewerber: die CDU-Generalsekretärin Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, der frühere Unionsfraktionschef Friedrich Merz und Gesundheitsminister Jens Spahn, der als Außenseiter gilt. Auf dem Parteitag können kurzfristig noch weitere Bewerber hinzukommen.
