ABQnews| China / USA /Argentinien /G20-Gipfel | Kurz vor dem Treffen von US-Präsident Donald Trump mit seinem chinesischen Amtskollegen Xi Jinping hat China die USA aufgefordert, unvoreingenommen zu agieren.
Die Regierung in Peking wolle genauso wie die Regierung in Washington einen Deal, hieß es in einem Leitartikel in der staatlichen Zeitung “China Daily” am Freitag. China sei zur Kooperation bereit, wenn es gerecht zuginge. “Sollte es andere Ambitionen geben, wie beispielsweise sich Vorteile zu verschaffen, um Chinas Wachstum abzuschnüren, dann wird es nicht zu einer Vereinbarung kommen.”
Am Freitag beginnt in Buenos Aires der G20-Gipfel. Handel gehört zu einem der zentralen Themen. An das Treffen von Trump und Xi am Samstag am Rande des Gipfels sind hohe Erwartungen geküpft. Trump wirft China vor, durch unfaire Praktiken im Handel die USA auszunutzen. Er hat mit weiteren Zöllen auf Importe aus der Volksrepublik gedroht, sollte es keine Fortschritte geben. Beide Seiten haben sich bereits mit Strafzöllen überzogen.
