ABQnews| Saudi-Arabien / Riad | Saudi-Arabien hat sich für eine Drosselung der Erdölproduktion ausgesprochen, um den Preis zu stabilisieren. Energieminister Chaled al-Faleh sagte am Montag auf einer Konferenz in Abu Dhabi, eine “technische Analyse” habe ergeben, dass eine Million Barrel pro Tag weniger nötig sei, um den “Markt zu stabilisieren”. Saudi-Arabien werde seine Förderung ab Dezember um eine halbe Million Barrel am Tag zurückfahren.
Trotz der kürzlich in Kraft getretenen US-Sanktionen gegen den Iran ist der Ölpreis in den vergangenen Wochen gefallen. Am Freitag notierte er erstmals seit April unter 70 Dollar pro Barrel (159 Liter). Al-Faleh sagte am Montag in Abu Dhabi, die Lagerbestände seien hoch, “und die 25 Förderländer werden nicht zulassen, dass sich das fortsetzt”.
In Abu Dhabi waren am Sonntag die Mitglieder der Organisation erdölexportierender Länder (Opec) und weitere Produzenten wie Russland zusammengetroffen. Sie hatten erklärt, das Angebot übersteige derzeit die Nachfrage, und kündigten “neue Strategien” zur Anpassung der Produktion an.
