ABQnews| Deutschland / Berlin | CDU-Generalsekretärin Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer geht nun auch offiziell als Kandidatin der saarländischen CDU ins Rennen um die Nachfolge von Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel als CDU-Bundesvorsitzende. Der Landesvorstand nominierte sie am Montag einstimmig. Kramp-Karrenbauer war mehrere Jahre Vorsitzende der saarländischen CDU und Ministerpräsidentin des Landes.
Mit diesem Beschluss bekräftige die CDU Saar “auch formal die riesige Unterstützung”, die es für Kramp-Karrenbauer in ihrem Landesverband gebe, erklärte der CDU-Landesvorsitzende und Ministerpräsident Tobias Hans. Sie verfüge über die notwendige Erfahrung für den Parteivorsitz, stehe aber auch für neue Impulse. “Sie kann gleichermaßen führen und integrieren”, zeigte sich Hans überzeugt.
Neben Kramp-Karrenbauer kündigten auch Gesundheitsminister Jens Spahn und der frühere Unionsfraktionschef Friedrich Merz an, auf dem Bundesparteitag Anfang Dezember für den Parteivorsitz zu kandidieren. Die Bewerber sollen sich in den kommenden Wochen bei Regionalkonferenzen der Parteibasis vorstellen.
