ABQnews| Deutschland / Sachsen / Dresden / Chemnitz | Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier reist heute zu einem eintägigen Besuch nach Sachsen. In Dresden besucht er am Vormittag (09.30 Uhr) die Ausstellung “Rassismus – Die Erfindung von Menschenrassen”, anschließend diskutiert er mit Schülern über das Thema Rassismus. In Chemnitz kommt der Bundespräsident mit Vertretern der Gastronomie und des Einzelhandels zusammen (12.30 Uhr), im Anschluss trifft er Bürgerinnen und Bürger der Stadt zum Gespräch.
Dabei soll es vor allem um die Frage gehen, wie ein gutes Zusammenleben gelingt und was verfassungsfeindlicher Hetze und Hass entgegengesetzt werden kann. In Chemnitz war Ende August ein Mann bei einer Auseinandersetzung mit Flüchtlingen getötet worden. Daraufhin kam es zu Ausschreitungen, an denen sich auch gewaltbereite Rechte beteiligten. Danach war ein jüdisches Restaurant in Chemnitz angegriffen worden, später wurde zudem ein Brandanschlag auf ein ausländisches Restaurant in der Stadt verübt.
