ABQnews| Deutschland / USA | Im weltweiten Rennen um einen Corona-Impfstoff hat ein weiteres Forschungsprojekt einen entscheidenden Erfolg gemeldet.
Der Corona-Impfstoff des US-Biotechkonzerns Moderna zeigte in einer Zwischenanalyse eine Wirksamkeit von 94,5 Prozent beim Schutz vor Covid-19. Moderna erwarte, in den kommenden Wochen in den USA eine Notfallgenehmigung beantragen zu können, teilte der Konzern am Montag mit.
Moderna ist der zweite große US-Pharmakonzern, der innerhalb einer Woche positive Daten aus der zulassungsrelevanten Studie mit einem Corona-Impfstoff vorlegt. Am vergangenen Montag hatten die Mainzer Biotechfirma BioNTech und ihr US-Partner Pfizer mitgeteilt, dass ihre Impfung einen mehr als 90-prozentigen Schutz vor Covid-19 bietet.
