ABQnews| Saudi-Arabien / Riad | Die Familie des getöteten saudischen Journalisten Jamal Khashoggi vergibt dessen Mördern.
“Wenn ein Mensch vergibt und sich versöhnt, bekommt er seinen Lohn von Allah”, twitterte Khashoggis Sohn Salah. “Darum verkünden wir, die Söhne des Märtyrers Jamal Khashoggi, dass wir diejenigen, die unseren Vater getötet haben, begnadigen.”
Khashoggi war am 2. Oktober 2018 im saudiarabischen Konsulat in Istanbul ermordet worden. Khashoggi, der in den USA lebte, war ein harter Kritiker des Kronprinzen Mohammed bin Salman, der de facto der Herrscher im erzkonservativen Königreich ist. Nach türkischer Darstellung wurde der Mord von höchster saudiarabischer Stelle angeordnet. Auch der US-Geheimdienst CIA und einige westliche Regierungen zeigten sich überzeugt, Mohammed habe den Mord angeordnet.
Ein Gericht in Saudi-Arabien hatte vergangenen Dezember in dem Fall fünf Menschen zum Tode verurteilt. Salah Khashoggi sagte zu dem Urteil, dass “es uns gegenüber fair gewesen” und dass Gerechtigkeit erreicht worden sei.
