ABQnews| EU / Ungarn | EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen hat Ungarn wegen dessen umstrittenen Notstandsgesetzes mit einem Vertragsverletzungsverfahren gedroht. “Ich bin bereit zu handeln, wenn die Einschränkungen das erlaubte Maß übersteigen”, sagte von der Leyen der Zeitung “Bild am Sonntag”. “Dann drohen Vertragsverletzungsverfahren.”
Ungarns Ministerpräsident Viktor Orban hatte sich vom ungarischen Parlament umfassende Vollmachten geben lassen, um die Coronavirus-Krise zu bekämpfen. Der Rechtspopulist kann nun per Dekret regieren und den Notstand wegen der Pandemie ohne Zustimmung des Parlaments beliebig verlängern.
Grundsätzlich sei es in Ordnung, wenn EU-Mitgliedstaaten mit Notfallmaßnahmen auf die Krise reagierten, sagte von der Leyen. “Aber: Die Maßnahmen müssen verhältnismäßig sein, zeitlich begrenzt, demokratisch kontrolliert.” Die Kommission beobachte das in allen Staaten, “aber bei Ungarn sehen wir aufgrund von kritischen Erfahrungen der Vergangenheit besonders genau hin”.
