ABQnews| Italien / Mailand | In Italien ist ein vierter mit dem Coronavirus infizierter Patient gestorben. Der 84-Jährige sei in der Nacht in einem Krankenhaus der Lombardei gestorben, teilten die Gesundheitsbehörden am Montag mit. Nach Angaben des Präsidenten der Lombardei, Attilo Fontana, litt der Mann bereits an anderen Vorerkrankungen. Laut Fontana stieg die Zahl der Infizierten landesweit auf 165.
Italien hatte sich zuletzt zum größten Herd des neuartigen Virus in Europa entwickelt. Die meisten Fälle wurden in der norditalienischen Region Lombardei gemeldet, von dort stammen auch drei der vier Todesopfer. Seit dem ersten Todesfall am Freitag ergriffen die Behörden und die Regierung in Rom drastische Maßnahmen, um die Ausbreitung des Virus in den Griff zu bekommen.
Elf Ortschaften, zehn in der Lombardei und eine in Venetien, wurden abgeriegelt. Der Karneval in Venedig wurde abgebrochen und Spiele der ersten Fußball-Liga abgesagt.
