ABQnews| USA / Nevada | Die US-Demokraten halten am Samstag (12.00 Uhr Ortszeit; 21.00 Uhr MEZ) im Bundesstaat Nevada ihre dritte Präsidentschaftsvorwahl ab. In dem für das Spielerparadies Las Vegas bekannten Wüstenstaat ist der linksgerichtete Senator Bernie Sanders klarer Favorit. Meinungsforscher sehen ihn bei rund 30 Prozent. Mit großem Abstand folgen der frühere Vizepräsident Joe Biden, die Senatorin Elizabeth Warren und Ex-Bürgermeister Pete Buttigieg.
Der Medienmilliardär Michael Bloomberg lässt Nevada sowie die anderen Vorwahlen im Februar aus. Er steht erst am sogenannten Super-Dienstag am 3. März, an dem in 14 Bundesstaaten gewählt wird, auf den Wahlzetteln. In Nevada wird ein sogenannter Caucus abgehalten. Parteimitglieder werfen keinen Wahlzettel in die Urne, sondern kommen zu Versammlungen zusammen, um für ihren Kandidaten zu stimmen. Das Verfahren war bei der ersten Demokraten-Vorwahl im Bundesstaat Iowa chaotisch verlaufen.
