ABQnews| Irak / Bagdad | Rund drei Wochen nach der gezielten Tötung des iranischen Generals Kassem Soleimani hat die Bundeswehr ihre Ausbildungsmission im nordirakischen Erbil wieder aufgenommen. “Die Mission hat heute morgen wieder begonnen”, sagte eine Sprecherin des Verteidigungsministeriums am Sonntag in Berlin. Die in Erbil stationierten etwa 90 Bundeswehrsoldaten dürften das dortige Lager wieder verlassen.

Die Bundeswehr hatte ihre Ausbildung von kurdischen Sicherheitskräften im Irak Anfang Januar ausgesetzt. Soleimani war am 3. Januar durch einen US-Drohnenangriff nahe des Flughafens von Bagdad getötet worden. Der Iran drohte schwere Vergeltung an.
