ABQnews| Türkei / Libyen | Der türkische Präsident Recep Tayyip Erdogan hat mehr Druck auf den abtrünnigen General Chalifa Haftar in Libyen gefordert.

“Es ist wichtig, dass Druck ausgeübt wird”, sagte Erdogan am Freitag bei einem Besuch der deutsch-türkischen Universität in Istanbul mit Kanzlerin Angela Merkel. Er warf Haftar und dessen verbündeten Milizen vor, auch Zivilisten und den Flughafen in Tripolis anzugreifen. Es seien schon mehr als 2500 Menschen in dem seit 2011 tobenden Bürgerkrieg gestorben und 7500 verletzt worden. “Die Terrororganisationen dürfen nicht wieder stark werden.” Der Krieg in Libyen strahle auf die ganze Mittelmeerregion aus.

Erdogan lobte erneut die Berliner Libyen-Konfernz und verwies darauf, dass er mit Russland zusammen an einer Waffenruhe gearbeitet habe. Es sei wichtig, die friedlichen Kräfte in Libyen zu unterstützen. Deutschland sei dabei ein Partner. Die Türkei unterstützt die von der UN anerkannte Regierung in Tripolis und hatte auch bereits Berater in das nordafrikanische Land geschickt. Auf der Berlin-Konferenz war von allen internationalen Staaten, die in Libyen aktiv sind, eine Waffenruhe vereinbart worden.
