ABQnews| Myanmar / Rohingya / IGH | Der Internationale Gerichtshof (IGH) in Den Haag verkündet am Donnerstag eine Entscheidung zu Vorwürfen des Völkermords an der muslimischen Minderheit der Rohingya in Myanmar (10.00 Uhr). Dabei geht es laut Gericht um eine mögliche einstweilige Verfügung gegen das südostasiatische Land. Der Armee Myanmars wird vorgeworfen, mit ihrem Vorgehen gegen die Rohingya gegen die Völkermordkonvention von 1948 verstoßen haben.
Mehr als 740.000 Rohingya waren 2017 nach koordinierten Attacken des Militärs aus dem mehrheitlich buddhistischen Land vertrieben worden. Sie flohen ins benachbarte Bangladesch. Die Friedensnobelpreisträgerin und faktische Regierungschefin von Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi, wies den Vorwurf des Völkermords im Dezember vor Gericht zurück.
