Erdogan kündigt Entsendung türkischer Soldaten nach Libyen an

ABQnews| Türkei  / Libyen  | Die Türkei hat nur wenige Tage vor der Libyen-Konferenz angekündigt, Soldaten in das Land zu schicken.

Sie sollten die international anerkannte Regierung in Tripolis unterstützen, sagte Präsident Recep Tayyip Erdogan am Donnerstag. Es würden alle diplomatischen und militärischen Mittel genutzt, um im Süden der Türkei für Stabilität zu sorgen, das schließe Libyen mit ein. Erdogan wird am Sonntag an dem Libyen-Gipfel in Berlin teilnehmen. Auch Frankreichs Präsident Emmanuel Macron kündigte sein Kommen an.

Die Türkei unterstützt in dem Konflikt den von den Vereinten Nationen anerkannten Regierungschef Fajes al-Serradsch. Sein Gegenspieler ist General Chalifa Haftar, der mit seinen Truppen seit Monaten eine Offensive gegen die Hauptstadt Tripolis führt. Haftar wird von Russland, den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten, Ägypten und Jordanien unterstützt. Haftar und Serradsch wurden ebenfalls zu der Konferenz in Berlin eingeladen, ihr Kommen ist aber noch unklar. Bundesaußenminister Heiko Maas reiste am Donnerstag zu Gesprächen mit Haftar nach Bengasi.
