ABQnews| Türkei / Ankara | Die Türkei will ab 2022 mit der Produktion eigener E-Autos beginnen. Das sagte Präsident Recep Tayyip Erdogan am Freitag bei der Präsentation von Prototypen zweier Modelle in der nordwesttürkischen Stadt Gebze. Die Türkei hat bereits einen bedeutenden Automobilsektor, jedoch keine eigene Automarke.
“Wir sind heute Zeugen eines historischen Tages, an dem ein 60 Jahre alter türkischer Traum wahr wird”, sagte Erdogan bei der feierlichen Enthüllung der Prototypen. Die Türkei sei nicht nur ein Markt für neue Technologien geworden, sondern auch ein Land, in dem Innovationen “entwickelt, produziert und exportiert” würden.
In einem Werk in der südlich von Istanbul gelegenen Stadt Bursa sollen ab 2022 jährlich 175.000 Autos vom Band laufen. Herstellerfirma ist Togg, ein Zusammenschluss aus fünf türkischen Industrieunternehmen. Das Investitionsvolumen beträgt 22 Milliarden Lira (3,3 Milliarden Euro).
