ABQnews| Türkei / Saudi-Arabien | Der türkische Präsident Recep Tayyip Erdogan will sich heute zu der Tötung des saudiarabischen Journalisten Jamal Khashoggi im Istanbuler Konsulat seines Landes äußern. Erdogan hatte am Sonntag angekündigt, er werde bei einer Rede vor der Fraktion der Regierungspartei AKP im Parlament “die nackte Wahrheit” zu dem Fall enthüllen. Ankara hat bisher unter Verweis auf die laufenden Ermittlungen direkte Schuldzuweisungen vermieden.
Türkische Medien veröffentlichen jedoch laufend neue Details zu den Polizeiermittlungen, die Saudi-Arabiens Kronprinzen Mohammed bin Salman belasten. Das Königreich hatte unter internationalem Druck am Samstag erklärt, dass Khashoggi am 2. Oktober im Istanbuler Konsulat seines Landes bei einer “Schlägerei” getötet worden sei. Weltweit stößt diese Darstellung jedoch auf Skepsis, da Riad wochenlang versichert hatte, dass er das Konsulat lebend verlassen habe.
