ABQnews| Frankreich / Paris | Frankreichs Präsident Emmanuel Macron will nach dem Ende seiner Amtszeit keine Pension für Ex-Staatschefs beziehen. Der 42-Jährigte werde auf die Zahlung von monatlich 6220 Euro verzichteten, erklärte der Elysée-Palast am Samstag inmitten der Proteste gegen Macrons Rentenreform. Der Präsident werde auch auf einen Sitz im Verfassungsrat verzichten, der ehemaligen Staatschefs bei einer Vergütung von monatlich 13.500 Euro auf Lebenszeit zusteht.
Die Rentenreform ist das zentrale Reformversprechen Macrons. Er will das komplizierte System mit 42 verschiedenen Regelungen in Frankreich vereinheitlichen und das Milliarden-Defizit der Rentenkassen abbauen. Gegen das Vorhaben regt sich massiver Widerstand. Der seit zweieinhalb Wochen andauernde Streik von Bahn-Mitarbeitern führte zu erheblichen Verkehrsbehinderungen in Frankreich.
