ABQnews| Afghanistan  / Kabul | Fast drei Monate nach der Präsidentschaftswahl in Afghanistan zeichnet sich eine zweite Amtszeit für Aschraf Ghani ab: Der Amtsinhaber habe bei dem Urnengang vom 28. September 50,64 Prozent der Stimmen errungen, teilte die Unabhängige Wahlkommission am Sonntag im Kabul das vorläufige Ergebnis mit. Demnach hätte Ghani die nötige absolute Mehrheit für einen Sieg in der ersten Wahlrunde.

Sein chancenreichster Konkurrent, Regierungschef Abdullah Abdullah, kam den Angaben zufolge auf 39,52 Prozent. Kurz nach der Wahl hatte er sich zum Sieger erklärt. Die Wahlkommission wies ihn damals jedoch sogleich zurecht, kein Kandidat dürfe dem offiziellen Wahlergebnis vorgreifen.

Vor der Veröffentlichung der endgültigen Wahlergebnisse bekommen die insgesamt 18 Kandidaten nun die Gelegenheit, Beschwerden einzulegen. Die Wahlergebnisse hatten eigentlich bereits am 19. Oktober verkündet werden sollen. Wegen technischer Probleme und Betrugsvorwürfen wurde dies aber wiederholt verschoben. Um Bürger von einer doppelten Stimmabgabe abzuhalten, waren dieses Mal Geräte zum Abgleich biometrischer Daten von einer deutschen Firma zum Einsatz gekommen.
