ABQnews| EU / Brüssel | Das EU-Parlament stimmt am Mittwoch (12.00 Uhr) über das Team der künftigen Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen ab. Nur wenn die neue EU-Kommission als Ganzes grünes Licht erhält, können die CDU-Politikerin und ihre 26 Kommissare am 1. Dezember an den Start gehen. Bei ihrer Wahl zur Kommissionspräsidentin im Juli hatte von der Leyen im EU-Parlament nur eine hauchdünne Mehrheit erzielt.
Der Amtsbeginn der neuen Kommission war eigentlich für den 1. November vorgesehen. Weil das Europaparlament drei Kandidaten für die neue Kommission abgelehnt hatte, verzögerte er sich jedoch. Von der Leyen wird die erste Frau an der Spitze der EU-Kommission und die erste Deutsche seit fünf Jahrzehnten.
