ABQnews| Deutschland / Berlin | Nach der Insolvenz des Pauschalreise-Veranstalters Thomas Cook werden wohl hunderttausende Kunden trotz eines Reisesicherungsscheins nur einen Bruchteil ihres Geldes wiederbekommen. Die deutsche Thomas Cook habe zum Zeitpunkt der Insolvenz Ende September 660.000 Buchungen im Gesamtwert von 500 Millionen Euro gehabt, berichtete die “Bild am Sonntag”. Thomas-Cook-Versicherer Zurich muss jedoch nur einen Schaden von maximal 110 Millionen Euro zahlen.
Damit fehlen rund 400 Millionen Euro, um alle Thomas-Cook-Urlauber zu entschädigen. Der Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband fordert daher, dass nun der Staat für die fehlende Urlauber-Entschädigung einspringt. In einem Brief an Bundesfinanzminister Olaf Scholz (SPD) schreiben die Verbraucherschützer laut “BamS”, Scholz solle “entsprechende Finanzmittel im Haushalt zurückstellen und somit für eine vollständige Entschädigung der Thomas-Cook-Kunden sorgen”.
