ABQnews| Deutschland / Frankfurt | Die Commerzbank hat die geplante Schließung von etwa 200 ihrer rund 1000 Filialen verteidigt. “Bei vielen der 200 Filialen, die wir schließen, handelt es sich um Dubletten, bei denen eine andere Zweigstelle fußläufig entfernt ist”, sagte Privatkundenvorstand Michael Mandel dem “Handelsblatt” (Mittwochsausgabe). “Außerdem haben wir Filialen, die signifikant weniger stark wachsen und weniger Erträge erzielen als der Durchschnitt des Filialnetzes”, fügte Mandel hinzu.
Der Manager widersprach auch Vorwürfen der Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft Verdi, wonach schon heute viele Filialen unterbesetzt seien. “Natürlich gibt es Filialen, die urlaubs- und krankheitsbedingt geschlossen bleiben”, sagte Mandel. Die Filialöffnungsquote liege aber “bei rund 99 Prozent”.
Die Commerzbank hatte am vergangenen Freitag ihre neue Strategie vorgestellt, mit der die zweitgrößte deutsche Privatbank ihre Kosten senken und profitabler werden will. Neben dem Abbau von unter dem Strich 2300 Stellen ist auch die Schließung von rund 200 Filialen vorgesehen.
