ABQnews| Deutschland / Rüsselsheim | Die Mitarbeiter des Autobauers Opel in Rüsselsheim müssen ab diesem Monat mit Kurzarbeit rechnen. Ein Sprecher bestätigte der Nachrichtenagentur AFP am Dienstag, dass Opel die Kurzarbeit bei der Agentur für Arbeit für sechs Monate ab Oktober anzeigte. Das “Handelsblatt” hatte zuvor berichtet, Management und Betriebsrat hätten sich auf die Streichung der Spätschicht geeinigt.
“Dieser Schritt dient dazu, eine sozialverträgliche Brückenlösung zu schaffen”, erklärte das Unternehmen. Nachdem die Produktion des Modells Zafira im hessischen Stammwerk ausgelaufen ist, soll laut Opel nun die Zeit bis zur Produktion des neuen Opel Astra überbrückt werden.
Die französische Opel-Mutter PSA hatte im Juni die Verlegung der Astra-Produktion von Polen nach Rüsselsheim angekündigt. “Mit den Investitionen in den Bau des nächsten Opel Astra ab 2021 ist die Zukunft des Werkes langfristig gesichert”, versicherte Opel.
