ABQnews| Italien / Venedig | Die 76. Filmfestspiele von Venedig werden heute eröffnet. Der japanische Regisseur Hirokazu Kore-eda, der vergangenes Jahr für seinen Film “Shoplifters” in Cannes mit der Goldenen Palme ausgezeichnet worden war, eröffnet das elftägige Filmfest mit seinem Familien-Drama “The Truth” mit den französischen Filmdiven Catherine Deneuve und Juliette Binoche sowie US-Schauspieler Ethan Hawke.

Das Festival steht bei Feministen in der Kritik. Sie werfen Direktor Alberto Barbera vor, dass zu den 21 Regisseuren, die dieses Jahr um den Goldenen Löwen konkurrieren, nur zwei Frauen zählen. Außerdem nehmen sie Anstoß daran, dass der französisch-polnische Regisseur Roman Polanski hier seinen Film vorstellt; ihm war 1978 in den USA wegen der Vergewaltigung einer 13-Jährigen der Prozess gemacht worden. Sein Film “An Officer and a Spy” über den jüdischen französischen Offizier Alfred Dreyfus dürfte davon unabhängig für reichlich Gesprächsstoff sorgen.
