ABQnews| Deutschland /Frankfurt am Main | Die Commerzbank hat ihren Nettogewinn im zweiten Quartal 2019 stabilisiert. Mit 271 Millionen Euro lag er 0,3 Prozent unter dem Wert des Vorjahresquartals, wie die Bank am Mittwoch mitteilte. Für das gesamte erste Halbjahr ist der Gewinn aber im Vorjahresvergleich um fast 27 Prozent auf 391 Millionen Euro gesunken.
Obwohl Deutschlands zweitgrößte Bank in den ersten sechs Monaten dieses Jahres netto 232.000 neue Privatkunden gewinnen konnte, fällt das Fazit entsprechend vorsichtig aus. “Wir wachsen weiter und machen im Kundengeschäft deutliche Fortschritte. Trotz aller Erfolge ist aber klar: Die Herausforderungen für die Branche und für uns nehmen weiter zu”, sagte
Vorstandschef Martin Zielke. Das werde “vermutlich weitere Investitionen erfordern”.
Im April hatte die Commerzbank ihre Fusionspläne mit der Deutschen Bank aufgegeben. Stattdessen will sie sich nun weiter besonders auf das Geschäft mit privaten sowie kleinen und mittleren Unternehmenskunden konzentrieren.
