ABQnews| Frankreich / Paris | Der frühere französische Präsident Nicolas Sarkozy muss sich wegen des Vorwurfs der Bestechung und der illegalen Einflussnahme vor Gericht verantworten. Der Kassationshof als oberste Instanz wies den letzten Einspruch des konservativen Politikers gegen die angeordnete Prozesseröffnung zurück, wie es am Mittwoch von Seiten der Justiz hieß. Es ist das erste Mal, dass der Ex-Präsident, gegen den auch in anderen Fällen Ermittlungen laufen, vor Gericht gestellt wird.
Sarkozy soll im Jahr 2014 versucht haben, einen Staatsanwalt am Obersten Gerichtshof zu bestechen, um Informationen zum Verlauf eines ihn betreffenden Ermittlungsverfahrens zu erlangen. Ein genaues Datum für den Prozess steht noch nicht fest. Er dürfte den Angaben zufolge aber in wenigen Monaten in Paris beginnen. Sarkozy war von 2007 bis 2012 französischer Staatschef.
