ABQnews| Österreich / Wien | Österreichs Bundeskanzler Sebastian Kurz ist am Sonntag mit Bundespräsident Alexander Van der Bellen zu Gesprächen über das Aus für die rechtskonservative Regierungskoalition in Wien zusammengekommen. Kurz wollte bei dem Treffen in der Wiener Hofburg vorgezogene Neuwahlen “zum schnellstmöglichen Zeitpunkt” vorschlagen, wie er am Samstag angekündigt hatte.
Als Reaktion auf den Skandal um ein Enthüllungsvideo über den FPÖ-Frontmann Heinz-Christian Strache hatte Kurz am Samstag die Zusammenarbeit seiner konservativen ÖVP mit den Rechtspopulisten aufgekündigt. In dem heimlich aufgenommenen Video zeigt sich Strache vor der Parlamentswahl 2017 bereit, als Gegenleistung für verdeckte Wahlkampfgelder öffentliche Aufträge an die angebliche Nichte eines russischen Oligarchen zu vergeben. Strache trat als Vizekanzler und FPÖ-Chef zurück.
