ABQnews| USA / Ungarn | US-Präsident Donald Trump empfängt am Montag den ungarischen Regierungschef Viktor Orban im Weißen Haus in Washington. Bei dem Treffen soll es nach Angaben des Weißen Hauses unter anderem um Handelsfragen, Cybersicherheit und Verteidigungspolitik gehen. Auch die 20-jährige Mitgliedschaft Ungarns in der Nato soll demnach ein Thema sein.
Der rechtsnationale ungarische Regierungschef ist ein Bewunderer Trumps. Orban steht in der Europäischen Union massiv in der Kritik. Ihm werden von verschiedenen Seiten antieuropäische Umtriebe, autoritäre Züge sowie Einschränkungen der Meinungs-, Presse- und Wissenschaftsfreiheit vorgeworfen. Orbans Besuch in Washington findet zehn Tage vor Beginn der Wahlen zum Europaparlament statt.
