ABQnews| Deutschland / Frankfurt | Der aktivistische Investor Elliott hat einen Anteil an Europas größten Softwarekonzern SAP öffentlich gemacht.
Die Beteiligung habe einen Wert von 1,2 Milliarden Euro, teilte Elliott am Mittwoch mit. Das sind knapp ein Prozent des aktuellen Börsenwertes des Walldorfer Konzerns von rund 130 Milliarden Euro. Zugleich stellte sich der US-Hedgefonds hinter das SAP-Management. “Elliott unterstützt die heute bekannt gegebenen Initiativen vollumfänglich”, erklärte Elliott, nachdem SAP bei der Vorlage der Quartalszahlen neue Ziele ausgegeben hatte.
Der für seinen oftmals harschen Umgang mit dem Top-Management von Unternehmen bekannte Investor hatte zuletzt unter anderem beim Industriekonzern Thyssenkrupp, beim Energiekonzern Uniper und beim Anlagenbauer Gea von sich reden gemacht. Es sei für SAP nun an der Zeit, die Früchte aus den Investitionen der Vergangenheit zu ernten, erklärte Elliott.
Für den Hedgefonds von Paul Singer ist es das erste Technologieinvestment in Europa. In den USA ist Elliott unter anderem am Online-Händler Ebay, am Computerbauer Dell und am IT-Dienstleister Cognizant beteiligt.
