ABQnews| Nordirland / Belfast | Nach den tödlichen Schüssen auf eine Journalistin in Nordirland hat die Polizei eine Frau festgenommen.
Die 57-Jährige sei in Verbindung mit der Ermordung von Lyra McKee bereits am Donnerstag in Haft genommen worden, hieß es in einer am Dienstag veröffentlichten Erklärung. Am Samstag waren zunächst zwei Männer festgenommen, später jedoch wieder freigelassen worden. McKee war in Londonderry während Ausschreitungen nach einer Hausdurchsuchung erschossen worden.
In der Nacht auf Dienstag entschuldigte sich die irisch-nationalistische New IRA in einem Schreiben an die Zeitung “Irish News” für den Tod der 29-Jährigen. Die Gruppe lehnt das Friedensabkommen von 1998, das die Jahrzehnte dauernden Auseinandersetzungen zwischen irischen Nationalisten und pro-britischen Loyalisten beendete, ab.
