ABQnews| Deutschland /Großbritannien / EU / Berlin /Brexit | Die britische Premierministerin Theresa May kommt am Dienstag zu Brexit-Gesprächen mit Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel (CDU) nach Berlin. May werde um 12.00 Uhr im Kanzleramt erwartet, sagte Regierungssprecher Steffen Seibert am Montag. Im Zentrum der Unterredung wird Seiberts Angaben zufolge das weitere Vorgehen beim britischen EU-Austritt stehen.
Die Staats- und Regierungschefs der EU kommen am Mittwoch zu einem Brexit-Sondergipfel zusammen. Die Premierministerin hatte zuletzt um einen erneuten Aufschub des Austrittsdatums bis zum 30. Juni gebeten. Sie sucht derzeit in Verhandlungen mit der Opposition in London nach einem Kompromiss, nachdem ihr mit Brüssel ausgehandeltes Austrittsabkommen dreimal im Unterhaus durchgefallen war. Ohne Lösung droht ein harter Brexit bereits an diesem Freitag.
