ABQnews | USA /Palästina / Israel | US-Verteidigungsminister Lloyd Austin sagte am Donnerstag, dass Israel seit dem 7. Oktober mehr als 25.000 Frauen und Kinder im Gazastreifen getötet habe.

Dies geschah während einer Anhörung im Kongress zu seiner Behandlungszeit im Krankenhaus, der Militärhilfe für die Ukraine und den Entwicklungen in Gaza.

Während der Sitzung wurde Austin nach der Zahl der palästinensischen Frauen und Kinder gefragt, die Israel seit dem 7. Oktober getötet hat, und er antwortete: „Mehr als 25.000.“

Auf eine Frage nach der Anzahl der Waffen, die Washington seit Oktober an Israel geschickt hat, antwortete Austin, dass er sich nicht genau an die Anzahl der Waffen erinnern könne.

Darauf antwortete der kalifornische demokratische Abgeordnete Ro Khan: „Die Vereinigten Staaten haben in den letzten fünf Monaten mehr als 21.000 Waffen nach Israel geschickt.“

Seit dem 7. Oktober 2023 führt Israel einen verheerenden Krieg im Gazastreifen, der Zehntausende zivile Opfer, die meisten von ihnen Kinder und Frauen, fordert. Hinzu kommt eine beispiellose humanitäre Katastrophe und eine massive Zerstörung der Infrastruktur, die zu Tel Aviv wird wegen „Völkermords“ vor den Internationalen Gerichtshof gebracht.
