ABQnews | USA/ Türkei | US-Außenminister Anthony Blinken traf am Freitag zu Beginn einer Nahostreise in der türkischen Stadt Istanbul ein, um die Entwicklungen im Krieg gegen Gaza zu besprechen.

Ein Anadolu-Korrespondent berichtete, dass Blinkens Flugzeug und seine begleitende Delegation um 19:10 Uhr (3+ GMT) am Flughafen Istanbul landeten.

Blinken empfing am Flughafen den Generaldirektor für bilaterale politische Angelegenheiten des türkischen Außenministeriums, Botschafter Yabrak Balkan.

Er wurde auch vom Washingtoner Botschafter in Ankara, Jeffrey Flake, der US-Generalkonsulin in Istanbul, Julie Ede, dem Leiter der Zivilverwaltung des Flughafens Istanbul, Ilker Haktan Kaçmaz, und anderen Beamten empfangen.

Es wird erwartet, dass die türkische und die amerikanische Seite am Samstag bei einem Treffen der Außenminister beider Länder, Hakan Fidan und Anthony Blinken, in Istanbul über die israelischen Angriffe auf Gaza, regionale Fragen und bilaterale Beziehungen diskutieren werden.
